Basic Experience

          a)    Practical aircraft  maintenance experience   for applicant of AMEL 
                1. Category A and sub categories B1.2 and B1.4  - four years 
                2. Category B2 and sub-categories B1.1 and B1.3 five years 
                3. Category C with respect to large aircraft: 
                        i. three years of experience exercising category B1.1 or B1.3 or B2 privileges on large aircraft or as CAR 145 B1.1, B1.3 or B2 support staff, or,a combination of both; or
                       ii.five years of experience exercising category B1.2 or B1.4 privileges on large air-craft or as CAR 145 B1.2 or B1.4 support staff, or a combination of both; or 
              4. Category C with respect to non large aircraft:  Three years of experience exercising category B1 or B2 privileges on non large aircraft or as CAR 145 B1 or B2 support staff, or a combination of both.
              Basic experience requirement revised by Rev.1dated 10th. February 2017 : 
 1. Category A,  subcat B1.2 and B1.4 and category B3  -- three years of
        practical aircraft maintenance experience on operating aircraft .
 2. Category B2 and sub-cat B1.1 and B1.3 -   five years of practical aircraft maintenance  experience on operating aircraft.


        b) Experience for extension to an AMEL shall have a minimum experience requirement appropriate to the additional category or sub-category of licence applied for as defined in Appendix IV to  CAR66.
       c) The experience shall be practical and involve with a representative cross section of maintenance tasks on aircraft.
      d) Recent Experience

      e) Outside Experience

   (f) Experience shall have been acquired within the 10 years preceding the application for an aircraft maintenance licence or the addition of a category or subcategory to such a licence.

Brake System Cessna 172

                             BRAKE SYSTEM -MAINTENANCE PRACTICES              1. Description and Operation A. The hydraulic brake system is comprised of two master cylinders, located immediately forward of the  pilot’s rudder pedals, brake lines and hoses, and single-disc, floating cylinder brake assemblies located at  each main landing gear wheel. B. The parking brake system is comprised of a pull-type handle and mechanical connections which are  linked to the rudder pedal assembly. Pulling aft on the brake handle applies mechanical pressure to the  rudder pedals, activating the brakes and locks the handle in place. Turning the handle 90 degrees will  release the parking brake and allow for normal operation through the rudder pedals. Propeller Installation for all fixed pitch propellers (except 1A162 model propellers).                   WARNING: MAKE SURE THE MAGNETO IS GROUNDED BEFORE INSTALLING  THE PROPELLER OR CONNECTING EXTERNAL POWER.                NOTE: McCauley recommends that propeller mounting nuts (if applicable) be replaced at each  propeller installation, whenever possible. However, nuts may be reused providing the threads are in good condition and the locking material prevents turning of the nut on the  stud by hand.
