India Weather - mobile app by Govt. of India

Weather Information and Disaster Alert System
Earth System Science Organization–India Meteorological Department (ESSO-IMD) launched a mobile application for Android based smart phones / tablets on good the Governance day observed on 25th December for providing current weather and four (4) days of weather forecast across the country for 310 cities. The mobile app called- ‘Indian Weather’ is downloadable from Google play store, free of cost. The mobile app. shall also be hosted for free download from the government mobile appstore  (https:/apps.mgov.gov.in/indwx.isp).
The Gramin Krishi Mausam Seva (GKMS) of the ESSO-IMD has successfully been providing the crop specific advisories to the farmers at the district level twice weekly through different print/visual/Radio/ IT based wider dissemination media including short message service (SMS) and Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS). Presently over eight (8) million farmers are receiving the agromet advisories on their mobile.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Y. S. Chowdary in the Lok Sabha on 18th March.

System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research –Air

Earth System Science Organization- Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (ESSO-IITM), Pune has launched a mobile Application “System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research –Air” (SAFAR-Air) for Delhi and Pune. This app can be downloaded from the website:http://safar.tropmet.res.in/ . The SAFAR-Air launched on 17th February 2015 provides site specific information on Air Quality in near real time and its forecast for the next 24 hours. There is proposal to extend this SAFAR-Air facility for Mumbai.
