PED - Securing and Stowing Passenger PEDs

           The DGCA has amended its Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) relating to air safety    to allow the use of Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) including cellphones. The use of PEDs shall be in the non-transmitting mode commonly called flight/airplane mode”             Para 4 of CAR deals with training requirement of crew where stowage of PED is one of the point. But nowhere mentioned regarding ''securing'' of PED used by passenger.              There is an important distinction that needs to be made between “stowing” and “securing” PEDs. If a PED is to be “stowed”, it must be placed into an approved carry-on stowage location. These locations have been designed and certified to comply with the requirements for retention of articles of mass during emergency landings. Among the most influential cultural components are organizational, professional, and national. A reporting culture is key component of these different cultures. Fuel tank Explosion

           TAE Aviation was fined after it admitted to failing to provide a safe workplace  to a man injured when the fuel tank of a Cessna twin-engine plane exploded in a  hangar .                 Technician sustained minor burns to his  face and lacerations in the blast.  Technician was "relatively fortunate" not  to have been seriously injured through the company's failure to properly drain the  fuel tank in the wing of the plane before repairs on the wing of the plan began. He was exposed to an explosive force, of sufficient intensity to deform metal and  break an arm bone, and with the potential to cause shards of metal to fly off . Many airports have hidden dangers in places where flight crews and flight line technicians should be attentive. Warm weather conditions can cause insects, spiders, and reptiles to emerge in unexpected places. Caution should be utilized when performing a pre-flight walk-around, maintenance operations, or other duties. Taking a moment to look before you reach will help avoid painful stings, bites, and unexpected encounters. It is also wise to be aware of favorable habitats for insects, spiders, and snakes before extending your hand into dark corners or holes. A flashlight or reflective mirror can be used for this purpose. Birds Nesting in aircraft

       It is required to inspect the aircraft more frequently for the signs of bird activity through the spring and into mid-summer. Some bird species such as the  Sparrow instinctively seek out nesting cavity locations safe from  predators.             Small hollow spaces offered by a parked airplane can seem like an ideal location for these nuisance birds to nest.             A bird nest left unchecked in an airplane can result in costly maintenance and damage. By blocking cooling airflow  the nesting materials can cause critical aircraft systems to overheat.
