CAR M Rev.01 Highlight

                                  The Revision-01 to CAR M is  issued to harmonise with regulations of EASA  Part M issued after March 2010.   Highlights of the CAR M Revision 01:- 1. The requirements, related AMCs and GMs have been brought together for easy  reference purposes. Subsequent to the above arrangement, the Appendices have also been  seperated as “Appendices to CAR M” and “Appendices to AMCs and GMs”. Reference to AME licenses as pre- CAR 66 have been replaced with post CAR -66 terminologies. Requirements for Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations (CDCCL) and  training guide lines have been introduced. Scope of components maintenance enhanced to include and “Indicating  Recording System”, “Water Ballast” and “Propulsion Augmentation system”. The scope of simple defect rectification, which can be accomplished by flight  crew has been enhanced to include.  a) Inspection for and removal of de-icing/anti-icing fluid residues.  b) Removal/closure of panels,

FTO - Facilities and Equipment

              7.1 Facilities and Equipment Training organisation shall establish facility appropriate to the size and scope  of the operation. It shall provide physical environment conducive to the  learning. These shall include:        A. General:            (a) Adequate Office Space for operational and administrative staff            (b) Storage area including secure area for training and personnel records.       B. Classrooms and training aids:            (a) Adequate and well equipped class rooms. The classrooms shall  properly be lighted and furnished. The size of the rooms shall be  appropriate to accommodate the batch of students. Application for approval of FTO

                CAR D7D-D1  is  lays down the  requirements for approval of a Flying Training Organisation for imparting flying  training for the issue of pilot licences and associated ratings. The CAR also  contains the requirements and information related to renewal of approval,  inspection/ surveillance/ audit of FTO and other general information related to  FTO.                                                           6.1 Application for approval of FTO                   6.1.1 FTO shall submit completed application as per Appendix IV, 90 days prior to  expected date of commencement of operations along with:                           a. Training and Procedure Manual (Contents of the manual are given in Appendix-V and the checklist to prepare compliance statement of  training and procedure manual by FTO is in Appendix-VA. Contents of  Quality Assurance Manual and associated checklist for compliance and  verification are in Appendix-VI and VIA respectively.)
